The annual General Assembly Meeting of BMA was held

On March 30, 2011 a regular annual General Assembly (GA) Meeting of the members of Bourgas Marine Association (BMA) was held. Special guests at the meeting were: capt. Bogdan Bogdanov - Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Shipping and capt. Mladen Mihaylov - member of the Bulgarian Chamber of Shipping, the Bulgarian Association of Ship Brokers and Agents, the Bulgarian Shipmasters' Association and the Association of Graduates of the naval school. The guests expressed their gratitude for the extended invitation to attend the meeting and used the occasion to declare their opinion that our two organizations (BCS and BMA) should unite in the interest of maritime business and in the name of the common cause.
GA Meeting was chaired by the member of the Steering Committee (SC), Mr. Plamen Russev and passed in accordance with the Agenda previously announced and published in Darzhaven vestnik (State newspaper) issue No. 10 of 01.02.2011 .
The BMA increased by 3 new corporate members: Lukoil - Bulgaria Bunker Ltd., Palmali GHVA JSC - Bulgaria Branch and Sea Shipping Ltd.

The following decisions were taken unanimously:
- The GA of the BMA adopted the SC's report of activities for the year 2010
- The GA of the BMA approved the financial report of the BMA for the year 2010
- The GA of the BMA determined the amount of membeship dues for the year 2011 as follows: for physical members - 80 BGN, for NGOs - 200 BGN, and for companies - 500 BGN
- The GA of the BMA discharged the members of the Steeting Committee and Control Committee of responsibility for their activities during the year 2010
- The GA of the BMA approved the draft budget for the year 2011
- The GA of the BMA adopted the proposed draft plan for the BMA activities in 2011
- The GA Meeting discussed and adopted a Declaration from the members of BMA to Minister of transport Alexander Tsvetkov, with a copy to Ivan Valkov - Chairman of the Standing Committee on Transport in the 41-st National Assembly, expressing BMA's disagreement with the prepared change of statute of the Bulgarian Maritime Qualification Center.
- The General Assembly decided that BMA should support in principle the Municipality of  Burgas and stand behind the idea of ​​building a "Logistic and industrial park - Burgas". 

After the Agenda was exhausted the meeting was adjourned and the participants indulged in pleasant chats over a glass of wine and appetizers.
